Double Doors: Twice as Nice

Double doors are also commonly called French doors. The term refers to any two doors put together within a single frame to form a pair. You can then choose to add a rebate, machine a rebate or simply have them meet in the middle with the minimum amount of space. A rebate is a must for exterior double doors to allow for proper insulation.

Double doors are great choices for interiors, as they are often made of panes of glass set into a cottage pane style wooden frame. This allows rooms to be closed off from each other  preventing heat loss and limiting noise travel - while still letting in maximum light.
