Your Warranty, Our Commitment to You

Thank you for selecting Nick’s Building Supply. This limited warranty is extended to the end user of Nick’s entry and interior doors. It is the responsibility of the homeowner or their representative to inspect each door prior to installation. If the door is installed, it will be assumed the door met all purchaser specifications and requirements. Once the door is installed, the seller shall not be held responsible for any alleged damage. This does not affect the warranty in any way.

During the term of this limited warranty, products are warranted to be free from defects in manufacturing and workmanship (cut-downs and modifications excluded). If such a defect appears during the warranty period, Nick’s will, at its option:

1. Repair the defective product
2. Replace the defective materials
3. Offer an agreed monetary reimbursement

If repair or replacement is elected, Nick’s will not be responsible for labor, installation, or refinishing of replaced parts. This limited warranty is valid for one year from the date of purchase for doors exceeding 6’8” in height and two years for doors not exceeding 6’8”. Replacement products furnished pursuant to this warranty will be covered for the remainder of the original warranty period.

Important:

Upon discovering a defective door, the customer must send photos of the issue via email. Nick's Building Supply will not be liable for shipping costs. Customers are responsible for returning the product in the original crate or an equivalent container. All custom-sized orders are final. All pre-hung orders are final (non-returnable/non-changeable).

Warranty Limitations

• This limited warranty does not apply to exterior or interior wood doors installed in dry or arid climates (e.g., Arizona).
• Wood doors are susceptible to expansion and contraction caused by temperature and humidity variation. Slight panel misalignment or shrinkage is not considered a defect. Panels are designed to float and can be realigned; occasional touch-ups may be necessary.
• No warranty is offered on fire doors due to extreme temperature differences and climate exposure.
• All doors must be fully sealed on all six sides within 72 hours of receipt.
• Warranty does not apply to doors installed in structures without proper moisture management/drainage (e.g., exterior synthetic stucco without engineered drainage).
• No coverage for damage caused by mold, mildew, fungus, or similar organisms.
• Warpage is not considered a defect unless it exceeds ¼” in the plane of the door. Oversized doors are excluded.
• Exterior doors must have an overhang extending at least half the door height.

Conditions Not Covered

1. Exterior doors not protected by substantial overhang and exposed to extreme weather.
2. Doors installed in dry/arid climates (e.g., Arizona).
3. Natural wood variations (color, texture, grain, knots). Knots not showing light through the door are not defects.
4. Doors not finished according to Nick’s instructions.
5. Improper installation, field finishing, or maintenance.
6. Misuse, modifications, or alterations, including cutting into joints.
7. Application of paint to factory finishes other than primer.
8. Normal wear or discoloration of finish.
9. Environmental conditions exceeding design standards.
10. Minor glass imperfections that do not materially affect normal vision.
11. Damage occurring during shipment.
12. Panel misalignment or shrinkage, which is normal and expected.
13. Installation of storm doors or coverings preventing ventilation.

Exclusive Remedy and Limitations of Liability

Your exclusive remedy for any losses or damages is limited to those specified above. Nick’s Building Supply shall not be liable for consequential or incidental damages, whether caused by negligence or otherwise. Some states do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so this limitation may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary by state.

This limited warranty is the sole warranty provided by Nick’s and supersedes any prior or subsequent representations, whether oral or written. No employee, agent, dealer, or representative is authorized to make additional warranties. This warranty is not a guarantee of future performance but only a commitment to repair, replace, or provide monetary reimbursement for defective products.

Interior Door Quality

Our interior doors are crafted for longevity and stability. Stiles and rails are engineered to prevent warping, and panels are laminated over a one-piece stabilized core to resist splitting or cracking. Interior mahogany doors are guaranteed for life.

Finishing Instructions

1. Remove the door from its frame and remove all hinges and weatherstripping.
2. Mask glass and thresholds.
3. Sand all six sides with 220-grit sandpaper or sponge.
4. Wipe clean of dust.
5. Apply first coat of stain using brush, rag, or sprayer. Wipe to desired color. Allow to dry.
6. Repeat on other side. Lightly sand any raised wood. Wipe clean.
7. Apply first coat of topcoat/sealer. Allow to dry. Repeat on opposite side.
8. Sand all surfaces with 220-grit between coats. Wipe clean.
9. Repeat topcoat application 3–5 times for exterior doors; 1–2 times for interior doors.
10. Final coat is the last coat applied.

These steps work with most finishing products, but always consult your local finish supplier. Proper finishing determines the frequency of maintenance over time.

Extended Warranty

Limited time offer: Must be purchased within 7 days of door delivery.

Nick's Building Supply offers an optional extended warranty:

• $300 for 6'8" doors (3 years of coverage)
• $500 for 8'0" doors (3 years of coverage)

The extended warranty provides coverage beyond the standard 1-year limited warranty, extending coverage to 3 years from the original purchase date. All standard exclusions and limitations still apply.

Note: Labor, installation, and refinishing are not included.

Additional Terms

Your exclusive remedy is as specified above. Nick’s shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow such exclusions, so these may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights; you may also have others depending on your state.

This limited warranty is the sole warranty provided by Nick's and supersedes any prior or subsequent representations. All other warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are disclaimed to the maximum extent allowed by law.
