YOUR WARRANTY,

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU

Thank you for selecting Nick’s Building Supply. This limited warranty is extended to the end user of Nick’s entry & interior doors. It is the responsibility of the homeowner or his/her representative to inspect each door prior to installation. If the door is installed it will be assumed the door met all of the purchasers specifications and requirements. Once the door is installed the seller shall not be held responsible for any alleged damage. This does not in any way affect the warranty. During the terms of this limited warranty products are warranted to be free from defects and manufacturing and workmanship (cut downs and modifications excluded). If such a defect appears during the term of this warranty Nick’s will at its option 1). Repair the defective product. 2). Replace the defective materials or 3). Offer an agreed monetary reimbursement. If repair or replacement is elected, Nick’s will not be responsible for installation or refinishing of replaced parts. This limited warranty is valid for one year from the date of purchase and is subject to further conditions and exclusions set forth below. The replacement products furnished pursuant to this warranty will be covered for the remainder of the warranty period of the original product. *Upon discovering defective door or door fails to conform to this warranty, the customer shall send photos of issues via e-mail. Under no circumstance will Nick's Building Supply be liable for any costs of shipping expenses. Also, customers are responsible to place their package back into the original shipping box or crate or similar and ship back to Nick's Building Supply. All custom sized orders are final. All pre-hung orders are final (non-returnable/non-changeable).

  • This limited warranty does not apply to exterior wood doors or interior wood doors that are being installed in dry/arid climates (such as Arizona).
  • Wood doors are susceptible to expansion and contraction caused by temperature and humidity variation. The natural characteristics of wood movement cannot be warranted against since slight shrinking and expansion may occur under normal conditions. Panel misalignment or shrinkage is not considered a defect. Panels are designed to float and can be re-aligned. Occasional touch ups may be necessary. These deviations from perfection are not considered flaws.
  • We offer No Warranty on Fire Doors due to the temperature differences and climate on either side of the door.
  • All doors must be fully sealed on all six sides within 72 hours of receiving them.
  • This limited warranty does not apply to Nick’s entry doors installed in structures that do not allow proper moisture management/drainage of moisture. For example: exterior installation and finish systems also known as (synthetic stucco) without an engineered drainage system.
  • This limited warranty does not extend to any problems or damages associated with, caused by or contributed to, mold, mildew, fungus or any similar organism.
  • Warpage shall not be considered a defect unless it exceeds a quarter inch (1/4”) in the plane of the door. Doors wider than 3’6” or higher than 8’0” (1 ¾” or 2 ¼” thickness) and doors wider than 3’0” or higher than 7’0” (1 3/8”) are not warranted against bow or twist. Warpage is any distortion in the door itself that does not refer to the relationship of the door to the frame or the jamb in which it is hung. A claim for Warpage may be deferred at Nick’s option for a period not exceed twelve months after installation to permit the door in question to acclimate to temperature and humidity conditions.

  • Exterior doors must have an overhang / awning above that extends 1/2 the distance of the entry (measured from the foot of the door to the base of the overhang).

  • “Clearance doors are sold as is. Warranty concerns are handled at Nick’s discretion. Glass and parts may be replaced within warranty year. Issues related to the unit itself fall in the sold as is stipulation in which no warranty is offered.”

    3. Natural variations in the color or texture or grain of the wood. Knot location, size and quantity for knotty alder or other knotty wood species. Knots which show light through the door will be filled. Knots which do not show light through the door are not considered as defects.

Things to know about your new custom hardwood door.
Nick's Building Supply Inc. goes to great lengths to bring our customers custom hardwood doors factory direct. When purchasing an unfinished wood door it is very important that the door is finished properly and in a timely fashion. Remember your door may have spent several days in transit to you and is no longer in our climate controlled facility. You should try to finish your door within 72 hours of receiving it. Wood is a natural product and is only as good as its protective finish. Choosing the proper finish for your application is important whether it be interior wood doors or exterior wood doors. Your doors should always be prefinished prior to installation.

  • Sand entire wood door with 220 grit until all surfaces are scuffed up (this gives you a good surface for product to adhere to).
  • Wipe down with rag to remove dust.
  • Repeat process 3 to 5 times per side on exterior wood doors, interior wood doors require only 1 to 2 coats of finish.
  • Once you have applied the desired amount of coats of finish, the last one is your final finish coat.

These techniques can be used with most products on the market, but be sure to talk to your local stain and finish provider. Remember the finish will determine the amount of maintenance your door will require over time. Generally the better the finish means more time can pass between the maintenance coats. The life expectancy varies between the different wood finishing products.
